The Huawei nova 7 series is finally launched; it arrives in its native China in three models – nova 7, nova 7 Pro and nova 7 SE.
The regular nova 7 comes with a 6.53-inch OLED FHD+ display with a punch hole cutout on the top left corner of the screen. For imaging, you get a 64MP main lens alongside an 8MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP shooter. For selfies, you get a capable 32MP shooter.
Under the hood is a powerful Kirin 985 5G chipset alongside 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. It’s powered with a 4,000mAh battery with support for up to 40W fast charging.
The nova 7 Pro improves on the regular model with upgrades in a few areas – the first of which is a larger 6.57-inch OLED FHD+ display. It also comes with two selfie lenses – a 32MP main shooter and an 8MP module.
It has the same camera setup as the nova 7 except it replaces the 8MP telephoto lens with a periscope lens of the same resolution. With this, the phone is capable of up to 50x hybrid zoom and 5x optical magnification.
You also get the same chipset here with the same memory configurations; the battery pack and fast charging support also remains unchanged.
The nova 7SE is the budget entry in the series and has a 6.5-inch IPS display with a single 16MP selfie camera. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-screen shooter like its siblings.
For imaging, you get a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
In terms of hardware, we drop down the pecking order with a Kirin 820 5G chip with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. Despite this, you’re still getting quite an impressive mid-range device.
The Huawei nova 7 is priced from 3,000 Yuan (RM1,853) for the 8GB+128GB model, and 3,400 Yuan (RM2,100) for the 8GB+256GB variant’ the nova 7 Pro will set you back 3,700 Yuan (RM2,285) for the 8GB+128GB option, and 4,100 Yuan (RM2,532) for the 8GB+256GB version; lastly, the nova 7 SE starts at 2,400 Yuan (RM1,482) for the 8GB+128GB trim, and 2,800 Yuan (RM1,729) for the 8GB+256GB model.
