It’s a one-two punch for the Huawei-HONOR siblings – after the launch of the former’s P40 series, the latter now introduces the HONOR 30S; officially making it the first of its series.

The device comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a punch hole camera cut-out. There also looks to have very thin bezels. It’s encased in an aluminium-glass chassis.

You’ll also notice a relatively large camera module which houses a 64MP main lens, an 8MP telephoto camera, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. If anything, that’s all the lenses you want and need on a smartphone nowadays.

Under the hood is a Kirin 820 5G chipset, alongside 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery that supports 40W of wired fast charging. It will ship with Android 10 with Huawei’s HMS services.

GSMArena reports of four colour variants, green, pearl white, and black. As HONOR and Huawei both share technology, you can always expect a similar Huawei device available – currently, this is very much the Huawei Nova 7i; except the latter has a smaller 6.4” panel and a 48MP quad camera setup instead. It still packs the same Kirin 810 chipset and 8GB RAM. Plus, it also comes in a very similar green colour option.

The HONOR 30S is priced from CNY2,399 (RM1,454) and will be available in China this April 7; there’s no word on its Malaysian availability and pricing yet, but we’ll keep you updated as more information comes.
