The Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite will officially be in Malaysia starting November 1 from RM1,199. The phone is sort of a mix of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and Mi 9T.
The phone has a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with the same drop notch we’ve seen across the Mi 9 series. At the back, you get a different looking wavy shimmer and what’s new is an LED-lit Xiaomi logo on the back panel that serves as your notification lights and will pulse to the rhythm of your music.
For imaging, you get a three-lens setup – a 48MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, you’ll also find a 32MP selfie lens – the highest resolution front shooter in the series.
On the opposite end, the Mi 9 Lite also has the weakest chipset in the series – a Snapdragon 710. Memory configurations for this phone are 6GB of RAM as standard, paired with either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. You can expand it via a microSD card of up to 256GB.
Powering the phone is a 4,030mAh battery that charges via USB C with support of up to 18W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that you can get up to 43% battery life in half an hour, not bad.
You can get the Mi 9 Lite in Pearl White, Aurora Blue and Onyx Grey. The 6GB+64GB variant will be priced at RM1,199 while the 6GB+128GB variant will be priced at RM1,299. The former will be sold exclusively on Xiaomi official Lazada and Shopee pages, while the latter will also be available at all authorised Mi stores in the country.
