This year Xiaomi has launched many smartphones such as the Mi 8 series and the Mi MIX 3, but next year the company will be revealing a new smartphone, and it expected to come with a 48MP camera.

The mysterious smartphone with 48MP camera was spotted in a Weibo post by the Xiaomi President Lin Bin. The picture showed very little the phone, and the only thing that can be taken away from the picture is that it has dual LED flash and it’s near the volume buttons meaning that it should be on the left when you’re looking at the back of the phone. The cameras are also suspected to either be a dual rear camera setup or a triple rear camera setup.

For now, the Xiaomi new phone is expected to either be using the Sony IMX586 48MP sensor or the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 48MP sensor. This phone will be the first smartphone to come with a 48MP if it’s releasing in January 2019. Besides that, it is reported to be featuring the new Snapdragon 855 processor and also come with 10GB RAM.

Current assumptions indicate that the phone will unlikely be the 5G smartphone that Xiaomi plans to launch next year, so it could be the Xiaomi Mi 9 or even a new series focusing on camera capabilities.
