The AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors are one of the best processors for multi-threaded work and sit above the some of the highest-end Intel processors. Now they are stepping up their game with the release of the 2nd generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X.
The processor comes with 16-cores and 31-threads and delivers 41 percent more multi-threaded performance than the Intel Core i9-7900X. The new generation processor comes with improved AMD SenseMI Technology along with Precision Boost 2 and Extended Frequency Range 2. These upgrades can also be found on the 2nd generation AMD Ryzen processors. In addition to that, the X399 platform offers customers with advanced features like AMD StoreMI Technology which gives the ability to load files, games and applications from a high-capacity hard drive as SSD read speeds.
Other than that, users can enjoy Precision Boost Overdrive which raises multi-threaded boost limits by tapping into extra power delivery headroom in premium motherboards. Lastly, it comes with Ryzen Master Utility which allows users the freedom of an unlocked processor and features like fast core detection, advance hardware controls and one-click workload optimizations.
The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X comes with a base clock speed of 3.5GHz, boost speeds of 4.4GHz and TDP of 180W. The processor will be priced at $899 (RM3729.68) and will arrive in Malaysia in the coming weeks.
