Dual cameras is indeed an ongoing trend from last year, and with that we see more and more smartphones sporting dual rear camera configurations, most notably Huawei and its sub brand Honor. Fellow Chinese manufacturer ZTE on the other hand has been busy making dual camera handsets that are affordable at the same time, and the company has announced yet another two devices that fit into that category – the Blade V8 Mini and V8 Lite.
For starters, the Blade V8 Mini, shown on the left in the image above, happens to be the more premium and powerful phone compared to the Blade V8 Lite. The Blade V8 Mini sports a 5-inch display on the front, an entry level Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, along with storage expansion via micro SD. The handset features dual 13MP rear cameras, ideal for taking beautiful bokeh shots and 3D photos. The selfie camera sounds rather mediocre on paper at 2 megapixels. The Blade V8 Mini packs a 2,800mAh battery.
The Blade V8 Lite isn’t any larger than the Blade V8 Mini, sporting very similar design elements as the latter. Form factor is nearly identical as well, with a 5-inch display. However, the Blade V8 Lite goes with a MediaTek MT6750 processor instead of a Qualcomm chip. Memory and storage remain the same at 2GB RAM and 16GB. The dual rear camera configuration has been slightly stripped down to 8MP sensors instead of the 13MP shooters on the V8 Mini. The selfie camera should fare better at 5 megapixels. The whole package will probably require lesser power as the Blade V8 Lite is fitted with a smaller 2,500mAh battery.
ZTE hasn’t revealed the prices and release dates for both devices but the company has indicated that Blade V8 Mini will be available across Asia Pacific and Europe while the Blade V8 Lite will be sold in Italy, Germany and Spain.
