Google’s Daydream VR platform for the smartphone is currently limited to the company’s own Pixel phones. That will no longer be the case as Motorola confirms that the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Moto Z phones will make them Daydream-ready as well.

Beginning in the United States, Motorola will be rolling out the Android Nougat update to both the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. With this update, the Moto Z family of smartphones will get Google’s latest version of the Android operating system which comes with Daydream capabilities. Assuming that you’ve already own a Daydream View VR headset, you can begin using the headset with the Moto Z once the update is installed.

As the Daydream View isn’t available in Malaysia, those who are looking forward to try out Daydream will have to resort to imports. We suggest that you hold off on importing the Daydream View for now though, as the Motorola did not reveal any information as to whether or not the Nougat update will be released to Moto Z phones outside of the country.
