You can now pledge money to your favourite Kickstarter projects without needing to be on your computer as Kickstarter has just launched its very own app on the Android Play Store.

For the first version of the Kickstarter Android app, the team has focused on the discovery experience, allowing users new to the crowdfunding scene to discover projects that might interest them. The app has also been designed to make searching for a specific project easier as well.

The Kickstarter Activity Feed that is present on the website was also ported over to the Android app, allowing users to receive updates on projects they’ve backed instantly. The feed will also spotlight projects that other’s have recently backed or from creators that the user has supported in the past.

Furthermore, the Kickstarter app followed Google’s material design guidelines for the overall layout of the app; something that Kickstarter wishes that hardcore Android fans will appreciate. As the app is currently at Version 1.0, Kickstarter has promised that more features will be introduced to the app over time.
