Its the end of the year and that means companies are updating their phones to the latest Android, the Xperia XZ line is the next phones to get the Oreo update. The phones were debuted at IFA 2016 with Android 7.1 out-of-the-box but we were expecting it to receive the update end of this year.

Some of the features that it will be getting are, reminders that you have not finish drafting our your emails or messages, redesigned app shortcuts with long-press action, and smart text selection. There is also an enhanced Xperia Actions that suggests settings based on your usage. Other than that, you will be getting Oreo features like Picture in Picture mode, new Quick Setting menu and Google Play Protect integration.

Last month, the Xperia XZ Premium received the Oreo update which brought features like 3D Creator which was originally on the Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact which rendered a 3D Avatar or a free-form image of users using only the front-facing camera and it could do it in less than a minute. It also brought improvements to the audio listening experience by including aptX HD audio support.
