Red Hydrogen One will launch in summer 2018

It has been a long time since we heard about Red’s first attempt to make a smartphone but it looks like after months of silence, we finally have a release date for the phone.

Red’s CEO Jim Jannard too to the company’s forum to mention that the phone will ship in summer which puts it at a June to September release date. The phone will come with a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution holographic display which is said to make images look like they are in 3D when you move the camera around. You will even be able to record videos in 3D using Red’s own 4V format made for the Hydrogen One. Users can connect modules to the back of the phone like a cinema-grade camera module that captures RAW 2D footage in Red’s R3D format and future modules will allow for 3D and 4V footage.

The Hydrogen One will come with a premium price of $1,195 (RM4682.37), this might not be a smartphone for the everyday user, but if you are an enthusiast in photography and videography then this might be the perfect phone for you.
