Today, Acer Malaysia officially launches the Chromebooks which comes in the ranges of 11-inches to 14-inches. Acer wants to target a wide range of organizations from education to enterprise, and with the release of these new Chromebooks, Acer aims to solve the issues of segregated systems. Acer aims to reduce the need to get more personal to manage the IT infrastructure, in the education or enterprise field.
The first Chromebook that Acer introduced, is the Acer Chromebook R11 C738T, which was built for users that want to try out different options but still need access to the keyboard. This Chromebook comes equipped with Acer's 360 degree dual-torque hinge design, allowing for different viewing angles from a pad to a tent configuration. The Acer Chromebook R11 C738T is the first Chromebook to support Google Play apps while allowing Google Admin Console to manage the device and apps in a single cloud interface. This Chromebook is also equipped with the latest MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology which Acer boast its fast wireless connection speed and longer signal ranges. It comes equipped with Intel Celeron quad-core N3160 processor, 4GB DDRL3 memory, 11.6-inch IPS display with a 10-finger touch and 10 hours of battery life.
The second Chromebook from Acer, is the Acer Chomebook 11 N7 C731 which has a unique drainage holes under the device that will drain water away from the vital components through the holes in the event of a spillage. The Chromebook 11 N7 has been put through rigorous quality and reliability test in accordance with the U.S. Military Standard, which includes, resisting 60KG downward pressure ontop of the cover, and free drop heights of up to 122cm. The Acer Chromebook 11 N7 C731 comes equip with Intel Celeron dual-core N3060 processor and has 2x2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless communication technology. It has a battery life of up to 12 hours and also comes with a 11.6-inch wide viewing angle display. The Acer Chromebook 11 N7 will come in two variants, the 4GB DDRL3 memory with 32GB eMMC storage or a 2GB DDRL3 and 16GB of eMMC storage.
The last Chromebook from Acer is the Acer Chromebook 14 CP5-471. Similar to the Chromebook 11 N7, the Chromebook 14 is also water resistant up to 330ml water spillage, and can stand a downward weight of 60KG with a drop height of up to 45cm. The Chromebook 14 comes with a Intel Core i5-6200U processor, 8GB DDR3L memory and 32GB eMMC storage. It also comes with a 14-inch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass a-Cover and boast a 12 hour battery life.
Finally, Acer also introduce two Chromebox devices, the Acer Chromebox for Meeting CXV2 and Acer Chromebox CX12. Both come with the latest Chrome OS and is pre-installed with web apps and additional, 30,000 apps, themes and extensions on the Chrome Web Store. The Chrome Remote Desktop will allow the user to access any system including a Windows system and perform disk optimization task from a Chromebook. The Acer Chromebox CX12 comes with a Intel Core i3-5005U processor, 4GB DDR3L memory and 16GB SSD. It also comes with a dual-band wireless LAND and Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and TPM chip which securely generates and stores cryptographic keys, giving an extra layer of security.
The Chromebox for Meetings CXV2 offers a plug-and-go videoconferencing set for a great videoconferencing experience, connecting up to 15 participants at one go. It comes with a high definition Carl Zeiss Full HD Wide Angle camera and a digital omni-directional microphone and speaker system have a wideband frequency response and Digital Signal Processing for speech clarity. It comes equipped with a Intel Core i7-5500U processor, 4GB DDR3L memory and 16GB SSD.
