The Xiaomi Mi 6 was launched just earlier today at Beijing, China. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to take on the big boys of the smartphone market with its latest flagship, also its first in 2017. It seems that MWC 2017 was worth missing by Xiaomi as it has been gearing up for today's event for quite some time now. The Mi 6 features a beautiful four-sided 3D curved glass design in Blue and Silver colors, both of which are beautiful, but there's more to where that came from.
Just as many have thought that Xiaomi was wrapping up its near 2 hour Mi 6 launch event at Beijing, Xiaomi has surprised us yet again with a more premium edition of the Mi 6. This is the Ceramic edition of the Mi 6 and it looks stunning in design. The previous ceramic phone that Xiaomi came out with was the impressive Mi MIX concept smartphone. A ceramic finish means that the Mi 6 doesn't come with four-sided curved glass design, but rather a four-sided curved ceramic design. On top of that, the Mi 6 Ceramic edition is claimed to be more wear and tear resistant than the normal Mi 6, being rated an 8 on Mohs hardness scale.
In addition to the premium taste of the Mi 6 Ceramic edition, the camera lens rims of the phone's dual rear camera setup is being fitted with 18K gold. 18-karat gold camera rims definitely scream premium for any smartphone out there right now. Specs wise, its the same throughout, but the Mi 6 Ceramic Edition is only being offered in the 128GB storage variant, meaning there won't be a 64GB variant for this Mi 6. You would expect the Xiaomi Mi 6 Ceramic Edition to cost a ton more than the original Mi 6, but in typical Xiaomi fashion, the Mi 6 Ceramic Edition will only cost CNY 2,999 (RM1,917.96), only a fraction more than the 128GB storage variant of the original Mi 6 handset. Are you planning to get your hands on a Ceramic Mi 6 instead?
