Xiaomi launched what was its largest smartphone ever to the global market last year - the Mi Max. The huge phablet sports a 6.44-inch display, topped off with a gigantic form factor for a phone. Xiaomi is expected to refresh the Mi Max later this year and it looks like the Mi Max 2 will feature a mild change in terms of its design.
The above images were released by Ubuntu on its Weibo social account. The device shown is said to be the Mi Max 2, the successor of the Mi Max. The phone seems to sport a single slab of metal this time, giving it a more sleek and seamless look compared to its predecessor. The post claims that the Mi Max 2 will retain the same 6.44-inch screen at Full HD resolution. Underneath the hood, the phablet is tipped to keep its mid range label with a slightly newer Snapdragon 625 processor. Last year's Mi Max came with two choices of processors - the Snapdragon 650 and 652 so chances are that there will be another processor variant for the upcoming Mi Max 2.
Another significant difference based on the series of images is the upgrade to a USB Type C port from the older micro USB port. The rare IR blaster still manages to get a seat on this phablet so that's something to note as well. What do you think about the looks of the alleged Mi Max 2 so far?
