Marvel Studios has started the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta Georgia. We're not sure when will the highly anticipated film hit our shores but it is due to show in US theaters on May 5, 2017.
Apart from that, an official photo of the sequel has been released, boasting the Guardians that drove the previous film. Namely, Rocket, Drax, Groot, Star-Lord and Gamora. Groot still remains as a tiny plant but it should be fully grown as the sequel progresses.
Also announced is the main cast list making return from the first film - Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel voicing Groot, Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. Joining the cast will be a couple of new faces - Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Furious 7).
James Gunn, the directors of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is working with a creative team of people who have worked and are working with big movie hits in the past and present. The first film was a big hit worldwide, netting over USD 770 million at the box office, holding the record as the most successful film by far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel fans will be in for a treat of an onslaught of superheroes due to hit the theaters in the coming months and years. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be one of the many successful movies in the long run of Marvel’s productions.
